I like Simons best because his approach can connect wiht more people and can help others learn about mahinga kai from the comfort of their own home.

What if?

What if?

Screech we pulled over and my parents said “Get we have had it with you walk home”
Then my parents drove off I was left alone hearing the wind in my ear the birds and cars, I stopped and thought “what just happened” then I hear a motorbike coming the biker says “Wanna ride” so I say “Umm no thanks I can walk” after he left I had no Idea what to do but then I remembered about my phone I reached in my pocket and grabbed my phone I called my mum and she said “No were not coming back” and hung up so I called my dad and he said “Listen to your mother” and hung up so I called my friend chace he said “hi what do you want” so I said “A ride” he said “me too” chace said “ what did you do” I said “well I might have skipped school and hid in the car” chace said “I got kicked out for texting you and my mum asked me to stop”  I replied with “ Umm okay where are you” Chace says “ By a tree” I say “ same I can hear myself echoing as well” I look around and see chace standing on the other side of the road, I say to Chace threw the call “What colour was you car “ chace said “ black why” “because I can see you across the road” then I hung up and chace comes over to my side of the road. I see hilton just down the road from were me and Chace are yelling at an ant and I yelled out “hilton what are you doing” he replies with “I was settling an argument with this ant” I yelled and said “Umm I’m just gonna pretend that makes cents” Hilton walks over to me and says “ I got kicked out of the car for stealing my dad’s phone and saying it was an accident” I look down the street and see kids on the side of the road, I say to hilton and chace “Is it annoy your parents day or something” hilton says “must be” we begin walking to try find a way home I say to them both  “To be honest I have no idea were we are I never pay attention to where we go” Chace says “same” Hilton just stands there staring at the ant. So I hold my thumb out and wait for a ride, and wait, and wait, and wait… but can’t get a ride so I give up  and start walking, suddenly I hear a loud RING! RING! RING! Coming from my pocket I quickly grab my phone and answer “Be home by 8:00 or you're getting no dinner!” comes a voice from my phone then it hangs up “ that was obviously my mum” I say putting my phone away Chace just laughs “what’s so funny” I say to chace frustrated “nothing” chace says with a grin “it’s just there is no way you can get home by 8:00 it is already 7:00” chace continues laughing “true but if I get a ride I might be able to get home in time” I say hopefully Hilton whispers “good luck with that” “It’s not that hard is it”. About half an hour later my parents hadn’t come back and I haven’t got a ride and no food, “this sucks” I say to myself “it is 7:30 and no ride, no food and no water, well not much water anyway” chace just nods and says “yup this sucks what are we going to do” I just shrug hilton has gone back to his argument with the ant and the kids down the street have gone out of sight due to the dark. Suddenly I hear a loud horn that sounded like a truck horn, I run over to the side of the road and stick out my thumb and thankfully the driver stops he asks “were to” well I shouldn’t write my address in this story so let's just say he took me to my house “thanks” I say lying back in the seat looking at chace and hilton still on the side of the road they told me they called a uber car I quickly call chace and sayed “why didn’t you call a uber car earlier” he said “I don’t know I was trying to find their number the whole time we were on the road” I hang up in frustration and just wait till I’m home.
